2 years agoAnother generic power fantasy plot, but with these damn well written and drawn chapters. Its not isekai, but its reincarnation where the MC gets his passion and underutilised talents transferred from a past poor life, to a richer and well to do royal family, where he can spend his time doing what he loves: Magic Research.\r\n\r\nThe arcs are powerful, the story writing is gripping, and its clear that the author really enjoys his work. Once in a while, when the MC gets extra passionate, you get full on colored panels, which are done so damn beautifully!! Most characters are cool, but tend to fall flat\n ...\n after a while since they are mostly personified stereotypes, but the way there are presented is just *chefs kiss* :3\r\n\r\nIts basically one punch man, but magic

2 years agoFirst things first, other reviewers keep hounding that this is an isekai, and while yes, 'technically' this is an isekai, but outside of the first few pages the fact that the MC got reincarnated bares no impact on the story. It never comes up again when we catch up to the MC at age 10. So keep that in mind if you\'re thinking of checking this out but turned off by the idea of reading another isekai. \r\n\r\nGetting into it, the main appeal of this manga is the art. While a lot of it does come off as basic/childish, when the action kicks in it\n ...\n doesn\'t hold back. We get an absolutely beautiful mix of color and black/white manga style whenever the scene deserves it, which is important. The artist doesn\'t randomly splash it everywhere but only does it to further intensify the scene which is tastefully done. This aspect alone makes this manga stand out amongst it\'s peers. I did specify the action scenes before, since this is when it\'s mainly done, but it\'s sprinkled in during other scenes as well when needed. This is why I\'m rating the Art a 9 since I believe more manga artists need to incorporate color in their works when needed.\r\n\r\nThe meat and potatoes though is the story and characters, and this is where this manga falls flat. While it is interesting enough to keep you reading, it is just another basic story of a OP MC. As another reviewer put it, bad guy shows up, MC deals with it, end scene. Then after that it goes back to MC trying to learn new magic. There really isn\'t much of an antagonist in this, which is what this story is missing. Even in One Punch Man, the antagonist was the MC himself, being too powerful to the point of boredom. This story could use a plot device like that. Give something the MC can fight against, even if it is himself mentally. The side characters are pretty flat as well, just falling over for the MC. And dipping into the art a bit here, I do have to agree with others as to being confused why the MC looks so girlish. While there\'s nothing inherently wrong with it, there just isn\'t really a need for it, and at the very least if the author wanted a girlish looking boy MC they could use it for comedy reasons like many other mangas, but that doesn\'t happen.\r\n\r\nOverall though I do rate it a 7, mainly because of the art though. It does stay interesting enough for you to read, but it won\'t win any awards in story.

2 years agoIn a sentence this your average op isekai with some darkness in it......\r\n\r\nStory:\r\nEven though it seems like a cute and happy manga it does show some gore, darkness and challenge. There was an arc like that But that\'s on the lighter side. It\'s still heavy on powers, harem and fights. If I compare it with another manga, it\'ll be kinda like 'That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime' but without the politics in it.\r\n\r\nArt:\r\nNow this is this mangas one of the great side. It has such good art and some of the panels are coloured. Fight scenes are epic and fun to read.\r\n\r\nCharacters:\r\nTheir\n ...\n designs are great. Development is also great. They don\'t get power out of nowhere, there are challenges they face.\r\nThere is this question I have found in many places. It is: \r\nWhy the MC is girl like? Is he gay or trans?\r\nAns: Well the MC is a Japanese shota character, so he will look like a girl, It\'s normal. And he is a magic nerd. So he doesn\'t really care about his looks. That\'s taken care of by the maids maybe. And if he gay or trans? The MC is 10. If you think these terms should come into a 10 years head then I have nothing to say. In the past at least I have seen many straight boys act like girls in anime. In those ecchi harem animes. This is also kinda ecchi, harem manga. So I think you can guess the answer to that question.\r\n\r\nEnjoyment:\r\nI have read a lot of isekai manga and manhwas. So compared to all that bull crap this is far better. If you are a guy who has only read Demon Slayer or AoT then this not for you. This you should read only when you have nothing to do in your free time. And yeah you can also read it if you like ecchi harem. I enjoyed it though.

3 years agoThis manga is stupid. It\'s sooooooo stupid. I dont care for this i really dont i just skim it because the story is whatever im only here for the talents of Ishizawa Yusuke (or kokuzawa yusuke) because he\'s one of the best artists to me period. But like its the really powerful for no reason (you know what I mean when i say that) protag and blah blah boring story. BUT ITS STUPID! WHY DID IT JUST DECIDE TO HAVE A 180 AND HAVE REALLY GREAT ART DIRECTION OUT OF THE NOWHERE. AND THE COMPELLING SHOTS ARE SOMETIMES USED FOR COMIC RELIEF?! WHY DID IT\n ...\n JUST DECIDE TO DO COOL THINGS LIKE THAT?! ITS SO DUMB. THE ART IS REALLY GOOD BUT WHY DOES IT PACE ITSELF TO BE NOTHING THE ENTIRE TIME AND THEN JUST SAYS 'oh ya we have a good mangaka lets make him do something cool-' AND THEN BRINGS OUT THESE DUMB FANTASTIC COLORS AND GOOD ACTION AND EVEN ONE PANEL REALLY REMINESCES A SHOT THAT YOU WOULD SEE IN CHOUJIN GAKUEN (though sadly the awesome panels is blurred out by an excess of particle effects for the impacts) ???? I HATE THAT THIS IS GETTING TRACTION BECAUSE ITS BORING ISEKAI MANGA THAT IS A LITERAL FEMBOY 12 YO. GO READ CHOUJIN GAKUEN: KONTON MOURYU SEISHUN JIHEN! oh ya the story if ill be honest when i say its whatever its that its not particular bad its just that it gets very boring and i got annoying to keep up with it so i only speed read it and went for key words and sentences. This manga is purely for the sake of entertainment and shouldn\'t be taken seriously. if you like good art be patient with this.

3 years agoif you\'re an observer in life then this manga is for you. \r\n\r\nstoryline is alright if you don\'t mind seeing the MC solve every situation with the snap of his finger. Before MC is reborn, his final moments were blissful as he was burned alive by magic; praising the beauty of magic. He stays lowkey and isn\'t coldblooded which is a plus IMO. MC doesn\'t care for anything but magic, kind of like Jibril from No Game No Life with her obsession with other world\'s knowledge; they both make THAT face when discovering something new with great interest. \r\n\r\ngold? nah I want silver.\r\ndemon? nah more\n ...\n like lab rat.\r\nangel? you mean light magic?!

3 years agoAn absolute hidden gem for those who enjoys reading trashy isekai manga! Generic story but carried by it\'s godly art.\r\n\r\nThe story follows Lyold, A feminine looking shota who has a chaotic personality and is utterly obsessed with magic. And speaking of his appearance, you\'ll probably going to be uncomfortable looking at him at first but you will get used to it as you read on.\r\n\r\nLike I said before, the plot is just another power fantasy story. There\'s your op mc, powerful demons and many heroines but the story doesn\'t take itself too serious and it handles the ecchi & comedic tones pretty well. But\n ...\n the reason I gave this a 10 is because the INSANE level of art. I don\'t know how to properly explain it but it knows how to really hype you up during action scenes making it feel really engaging and impactful.\r\n\r\nSo overall, is a pretty fun read imo!

3 years agoAn incredibly overpowered little boy tries to hide it. He dedicates his life to magic after dying in his last life unable to use it. Just about everything this kid does is for the sake of learning more magic. He has a virtually endless supply of mana and can seeming do anything. \r\nThe character looks and acts in a way where readers may have a hard time knowing he is a boy. The art style quickly alternated between simplistic and detailed in a very interesting way, and the art is incredible to say the least. I think it is worth at the very least checking\n ...\n out. This manga isn\'t for everyone, but (so far) it is really fun to read.

3 years agoThe beginning was intriguing and actually got me invested, but then it all quickly went downhill and became your usual isekai with shota wayyy to powerful MC, harem and ecchi scenes and girls that fall head over heels for our shota boy.\r\n\r\nStory: a magic nerd that was born with no magic talent gets reincarnated as a prince, being granted a lot, and I mean A LOT of magical power. The manga follows his journey as he\'s learning as much magic as possible, getting stronger and stronger and fighting different kind of monsters, mostly in search of more spells or magic objects. It was interesting until\n ...\n it started to get boring and as repetitive as a lot of isekais out there, with a lot of tropes (shota powerful MC that\'s literally undefeatable, girls with big boobs that fell for him and have kinda pervert moments with him, ecchi and all that stuff). 6/10\r\n\r\nArt: 10/10. Definitely outstanding, it deserves all the appreciation.\r\n\r\nCharacter: 4/10. It would have been 3, but the MC\'s brothers seemed pretty interesting, more or less. On the other hand, the MC is the arrogant overpowered kid that shocks everyone with his power and is only obsessed with magic. Though he\'s not entirely that typical, at least not as much as the maid and taoist girl, which were beyond mediocre.\r\n\r\nEnjoyment: 6/10 and overall: 5/10.\r\n\r\nI don\'t really recommend it unless you\'re into the typical isekai with typical big boobs characterless girls and magic freaks.

3 years agoThis is a story of someone that didn\'t have a background whatsoever that has been reincarnated into a prince as the 7th son of the throne from some known kingdom that he used to lived. This isn\'t the review of everything at all because it\'s just a reminder to everybody that kinda thrown into this page and thinking to have a read. \r\n\r\nI don\'t know what the author on but 'his' characterization is not the best. He is a son of the king yet he moves girly and cute (I found it cute but I fully know he is a boy). I know he still\n ...\n a 10 years old but it\'s not a justification on the entire story based on the fact that he is 10 then the author made him girly through on through.\r\n\r\nMind you, this is a sole reminder from your brethren that the entire show aren\'t that much of a slice of life. Just stupid power and all. But I might have some better elaborated review next time if I remember to. Cheers

4 years ago'Tensei Shitara dai Nana Ouji dattanode...' is one note. Bad guy or problem appears, the threat/problem is contextualised and then the MC destroys/solves. Because of the sheer scale of the MCs mastery and ability, there is little wiggle room for really anyone else in the plot. Possibly any attempt to expand the scope of the story beyond it’s dopamine-hitting basic structure would dilute its primary appeal. “Magician” would be the comparison here, which has a character like the MC in it’s story, but there is a bloom of content surrounding that singular aspect. “Tensei Shitara…” does have some good artistic and panel direction though. It\n ...\n goes out of it’s way to make sure the meal it’s serving you, while the same as every other day of the week, is pretty high quality. However, binging the currently available 39 chapters was beginning to cause my concentration to wane. But there is currently enough magical hijinks and escalation that I certainly felt no pain while reading. An even more direct comparison would be “One Punch Man”, but that exudes far more character, humour and good taste generally. But check this out, it’s quite enjoyable. Even if it’s only an isekai insofar as it gets people to click on chapter 1 lol.
